Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Who is this conference for?

The Control4 NEXT Conference is exclusively for Control4 Certified Technicians who have completed either the Control4 Certified Technician (C4CT) or Automation Programmer (AP) certification. This ensures all attendees share the technical foundation needed for the advanced, hands-on courses offered.

Can I attend if I'm not Control4 certified yet?

No. Control4 certification is required to attend. The sessions cover advanced topics and assume baseline knowledge gained through certification.

To keep things fair and consistent for everyone, we'll also verify photo ID at conference check-in to make sure the person attending is the same person who registered for the conference.

If you're interested in attending, now is a great time to complete your certification so you can register once certified—or be ready for a future event.

When and where is the conference?

The conference takes place October 20–22, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas, and will be hosted at the InterContinental San Antonio Riverwalk hotel, located directly on the River Walk.

What does the conference cost, and what's included?

The registration cost is $1,700 per technician

This includes:

  • Enrollment in hands-on training sessions

There are 10 hands-on training sessions available. Each session is approximately three hours long, and you may enroll in four hands-on sessions, allowing you to focus on the topics most relevant to your work.

Will the sessions be hands-on or lecture-based?

All training sessions are fully hands-on. This is not a "sit and get" event. You'll work directly with real hardware, software, and integration scenarios under the guidance of expert instructors.

What equipment do I need to bring?

You must bring your own laptop with:

  • An Ethernet port or USB-to-Ethernet dongle
  • The latest version of Composer Pro installed

Wi-Fi will not be supported during hands-on sessions, so a wired connection is required.

How do I pay for my registration?

Your registration fee will be invoiced directly to your dealership. Individual payment is not available. Please be sure you have approval from your employer before registering.
